Ain't it funny how these silly things always used to "fall off" their doorknobs and land in one's luggage, when one is otherwise just trying to check out of a hotel room...?? ;-) :-) Here's 15 handy examples I've discovered in my bags after returning home from somewhere over the years. Nowadays of course, the traveler is more likely to find a smallish 'T' shaped plastic bit meant to stick into a keycard slot. (and there's probably a pile of them laying around here someplace too, not to mention those keycards themselves...does anybody collect *those*??)
Yep people will collect anything! :^D Nice post and story! :^)

Thanks SO MUCH to everybody for the likes, loves, and comments -- and especially to Ben for pointing out that absolutely fascinating article!! :-) :-) :-)
In a perhaps sad commentary on Humanity today, I recently noticed mention in news reports that some "DND" signs (and thus Hotel policies) are beginning to change somewhat. After the horrific mass-shooting event which originated from a Las Vegas hotel room in October, 2017 (where the perpetrator utilized a DND sign while preparing for his crime) some Las Vegas hotels replaced the DND with signs reading "ROOM OCCUPIED" instead, and since then several Disney Resorts in Florida have apparently followed suit. This change, they say, will now officially allow hotel staff to enter any guest room "for maintenance, safety, or security reasons". <sigh>
Oh well...something different to look for the next time I'm in a hotel room, I guess...?
