A rare Canadian WWII desert camo helmet to the Canadian Provost Corps. No. 5 Provost Company, Canadian Provost Corps were attached to the Canadian 5th Armoured Division. The 5th Armoured Division took part in the Italian Campaign until the end of 1944, seeing notable action on the Hitler Line after the Allied breakthrough at Cassino in May 1944 and also during Operation Olive on the Gothic Line in August 1944.

The helmet itself is in good condition, with its original chinstrap and liner. To the side of the helmet is the flash of the Canadian Provost Corps. The chinstrap is has a small tear in it, but still pretty good condition. To the interior of the helmet, there is a liner in good condition. The helmet is a British MKII, made by 'HBH' (Harrison Brothers, Howe) in 1940. It is known that British MKIIs were issued to Canadian troops. The helmet looks well worn, but I personally like it's rough appearance. In my opinion, not a helmet that sat out the war.

The Canadian Provost Corps were the Military Police of Canadian Army during the Second World War.

I'm glad this helmet has gone to a good home, quite rare having Canadian markings on a British helmet.

      Tinlid,

Thank you for your kind words. It is quite a rare find, and I am really happy with it. My relatively small helmet part of my collection is slowly growing with some nice helmets, and this helmet is a nice find.
      R32,

Thanks for the comment. Yes quite rare to see original sand camo MKIIs, and to find a British sand camo helmet with a rare Canadian flash to the Provost Corps is a really nice find.
