I never bothered hoping I'd ever have one of these super scarce 6-1/2" 1930's service award statuettes. But now I do.
Purchased in a BIN lot, I swallowed hard but didn't hesitate on the relatively large spend. I had a good feeling about it.
Within a day of receiving, I sold the rest and offset nearly all the cost. One of my best deals ever and the item is superior.
So be patient and persistent, Fellow Collectors! There are many opportunities out there for good times and great finds.
Hope all are enjoying a nice, long weekend.
Dave
Having strong nerves always helps, a very nice add to your dream collection Dave. Is made of pewter?
Thanks cokehenry. Not sure, I think it may be. It's heavy 2-3 lbs.
It could not have found a better home than to belong to you ! Wow what a find . Love love
Thank you Manikin!
Great find DN!! I love this kind of thing as well. I like to think of who and when it was presented.
Congrats!
Thanks CokeKid. I should have asked seller, it was out of her relative's estate, original recipient. Maybe I still will. That's a good point. Always good to know if possible the story behind the piece.
Great score !
You awesome bb2, thanks!
