This was a trip we took on Memorial Day weekend to Salem Oregon, for a reception, at the Willamette Heritage Center at the Mill. We got a little sight seeing done, and even a little Thrift Store, and Yard Sale, shopping, and collecting too, I'll show some in my next post, at a later time! :^)
I got up early on Sunday, and walked around Salem, the Willamette University, and the State Capital grounds, it was quite, and I needed to stretch my legs, before our long 600 mile trip back home.
The 1st picture is of the Oregon State Capital Building, in Salem.
The 2nd is of a bronze statue commemorating the Circuit Riders, it reads:
Commemorating The Labors Of The Ministers Of The Gospel Who As Circuit Riders Became The Friends Counselors And Evangels To The Pioneers On Every Frontier
The 3rd picture is of the Willamette Heritage Center at the Mill.
The last picture is me, with Mt. Shasta, California behind, and just over 300 miles to go! Home Sweet Home! :^D

I wanted to say that the view of Mt. Shasta, is over 10,000' above the valley floor, with nothing as high, or even close, near by.
Thank you for looking, and all comments, and questions welcome, I'll try to give an answer! :^)

No wasn't changed, must have an attendant pump your gas, what's funny is that's all they do except take payment. No windshield cleaning, in fact they don't even attend, just stick the hose in and take it out when they get back to you! Takes longer just waiting for them to get back to you than the gas pumping it self, and heaven forbid if something should happen, overflow, not shut off, FIRE!!! B^O LOL :^)
Thanks for your comment Thomas, and the love too! :^)

All I have to do is go bowling, and everyone stops by! Sorry I'm so slow at getting back to my post! :^)
      Thanks for your comment shareurpassion!
Thanks Mary, it was a nice time, but a lot of driving, for a short visit, more time on the road, then in Salem. I took a lot of pictures, in the short time we had, but a cat at home, and a garden in the yard, we thought it would be better to get back. We have another trip down to Carlsbad, Ca. in June for our oldest son's wedding, a shorter distance, and a longer stay, so hopefully a little more time to enjoy the area, and family/new family! :^) The shirt that I'm wearing in the picture, of Mt. Shasta, is one of my finds, a great Hawaiian made shirt to add to my collection of over 60, I had to pay more than the seller at the Yard Sale wanted, because it was so nice, it didn't seem right to only pay .25 for each of the two shirts, and $1.25 for the other things we got, so I gave her $5.00 and said no change please! :^D
I'll check out your comment on the Godey Book post!
Thank you all for stopping by for a look, and giving some love,

The old water tower in your 'mill' photo would look SO much nicer without the bevy of cellphone antennae now bolted to it <sigh> and what an interesting art-deco chunk of Capitol building!! I bet the locals have a whole assortment of interesting/amusing 'nicknames' for that...? <lol>

Thanks for your comment and the like AnythingObscure, if I would have had more time there, I would have asked the Locals about it, but at 6:30am Sunday morning, there was nobody there! :^)

Hey Rick, it's good to see ya! Thank you for your comment, and it was a great time, just never seems long enough, when family is there, and you're in a new location too! Maybe if I put my hands around the rim, I can fill the cup a little fuller, but it's hard to drink without spilling some! So we have to be grateful, for what we get, and hope for another sip, at another time! :^D Thanks for the love too, my cup runneth over! :^)

I used to buy some GREAT stuff out in Salem!

There was a great shop just south of the city that had some fantastic antique photos. Bought from them once and then they called my every time they got in additional photos!

We didn't have enough time to look around too much, I wish we had, but it didn't work out. There was an interesting photo collectors shop, in the Heritage Center at the Mill. They had old photos, and photography equipment, did framing, and photography art work. Some really nice stuff! :^D
Thanks for your comment scottvez! :^)
