This is a trench art WW1 era Taube airplane.
This particular model of plane was popular with early trench art creators. I have several examples in my collection.
The body of the plane is made from a bullet cartridge as are the wheels. The wings and tail are from shell brass. The plane is well detailed with a cockpit and appears to have been rigged at one time.
See my other postings for several other WW1 era trench art pieces.
Thanks for looking artfoot.

Scott, if you are anywhere near Frankfort, KY, be sure to go to the old armoury weapons museum. I'll post some pix soon.
I'm not familiar with that museum.
I'd like to see some of the photos and I will try and visit some time.
