I found this picture yesterday at the last sale that I went to. It was in the back bedroom still hanging on the wall. This is an antique picture with a pretty wooden frame. I don't know if this is one of the Gibson girls or is just in that style. Thanks for stopping by
Thanks for the loves!
That is gorgeous, is that pearl inlay on the frame? It certainly looks vintage. Can you find a signature anywhere??
I believe the picture is in an Eastlake style frame. As a bit of background, this style came about from the writings of architect Charles Locke Eastlake from his book: "Hints on Household Taste and Furniture, Upholstery, and other Details: The Classic Handbook of Victorian Interior Decoration".
I started learning about Eastlake after finding out that one of my items has an Eastlake frame (a framer identified it when I had conservation glass added):

Postcard, I did not see a signature- thanks for stopping by
Rniederman, thanks so much for the info.
rniederman is right about that. And yes, that is mother of Pearl. Wow, it's all amazing and especially for it being in a bathroom. I agree, it would look good there, she belongs in a Powder Room so to say, but so many times the ventilation is not good in bathrooms and things do tend to get to much moisture. Nice find!
Shareurpassion, thank you for the comment!
I really like this! That frame is grand! I have been getting into old picture collecting lately. My new thing to collect.
