Lisa-light…
(30 items)
I was fortunate enough to purchase these at auction this week. I found what I hope is the same decor on Loetz.com. It was newly identified by Deb Fitzsimmons. I felt very secure about my find as I drove home from the preview and then again when I was bidding at the auction. It was an amazing collection of art glass and the other lot I came home with are the same shape and decor as the Loetz shades I posted as my first post here on CW five years ago. Thanks to that posting I know that they are indeed Loetz. Although I still don't know of an identification re the decor. I have seen many Loetz shades of that shape just never a name or number for the decor.
If anyone can reassure me that I do indeed now own a set of Loetz PG 2/187 I would be most grateful. Also I wondered if when the sun shines again here and I can get some proper images of these if the Loetz.com folks would like another shape to add to the site. The image I have here is awful I know but it has been raining all day and I just couldn't wait to share the news here, so I am using this one with my flash.
stunning piece of glass !!!!!!!!
Looks like a Loetz to me!!!! Beautiful! Likely a PG2/187 ca 1902. Here's a link...

Beautiful piece Lisa-lighting, I think Sammyz nail it, right on.

Wonderful! That is the page that prompted me to post the shades as Loetz. I just needed to check here to be sure they are indeed PG 2/187. Thank you Sammyz, Alan and Malkey. Thank you too for the love.
It is supposed to be sunny here tomorrow. If it is I will try to take some good pics and add them to the post.
Lovely shade, Lisa. You are also correct that it is an example of PG 2/187.
Thank you so much LoetzDance. I am just thrilled and so grateful to the kind people who share their knowledge and their time here on CW, Loetz.com, and years ago the TIAS art glass group.
Sincerely,
Lisa
I added what I hope is a better image of PG 2/187. It shows the iridescence far more than the first one. The third image is the shade I mentioned in my post as the one I first posted here on CW. The last image was prompted by my going through the CD of pattern shapes yesterday and today. Very similar shape but one is taller than he other.
You always have such great stuff!
Thank you,Johann. That is very kind.
Beautiful!
Thank you vintagelamp. I am thrilled to have them in my collection.
update for anyone who is interested, These shades are indeed PG 2/187 and the PN II 2/177. The PN is listed in Loetz/ Series ll Paper patterns for glass from 1900 to 1914, Page 130. The decor is mentioned in the PN listing. I did love these as soon as I held one in my hands but I can't pretend that I am not even more excited to have them in my collection now that they are ''officially" Loetz and not just Lisa believes they are. ;o)
Lisa, I see you are having fun with your new book! Way to go Ms Loetz researcher.
You are too kind. Hopefully one day I will deserve such a title.:0)
Lisa, do you have a photo of the other shade in photo 3?
Dear Sammyz, Goodness, sorry I have just seen your comment. I will shoot the shade for you as soon as the sun shines. Hopefully tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Lisa
Thanks! It is a beauty!
