The weekend before we went to Salem, I found this great little California Faience Pottery vase, in the bottom of a cardboard box of stuff, at the Flea Market. I was lucky to see this, but when I saw the color, I knew, and grabbed it! The seller noticed, and said "something special?" Just a little vase I said, how much? $3.00?, and I gladly paid the man, packed it in my satchel, and walked away with a smile! :^D
The 3 3/4"high California Faience blue vase, is 3 1/4" wide, 2"base, and 1 1/2"opening on top. The red clay bottom is marked, by hand, California Faience.
The California Faience pottery was started in Berkeley, California on Hearst Ave. in the early 1900's making tiles, and started making art pottery pieces in the 1920's-late 30's, but continued their tile making, at, and for the Hearst Castle, until the 1950's.
Thanks for looking at my California Faience pottery vase find, and feel free to ask any questions, or leave a comment! :^)
Sorry I don't know what happened to the color on picture #2, but the color on the other 3, is correct.:^)
Good find, Bill!!
Thank you Bonnie, this is only the 3rd one that I've found, very rare, and I only live 20 miles from Berkeley!
Thank to all of you for looking, and loving too!

You should try the Flea Market in Concord h2c, you never know what you will find! Like me this is the 3rd, and nicest one I've found in the 44 years I've been going there! &:^) Well, not very likely, after all! :^D I'm still going to get over to your neighborhood Thrift Stores, and maybe find one there! Thank you much for the comment and the love, good Sir! Always nice to get! :^)
Your background contrasts too greatly, which wreaks havoc with most cameras (and then mine hates intense blue or yellow and tends to remove all contrast from items with those deep shades). In the miniature main-page view, at least on my ancient desktop, it doesn't even show up. Neutral, muted, or soft backgrounds work best.
Thanks SpiritBear! :^)
Gotta love that Blue Bill : ) I'm glad you got it!
Thanks Rick, I paid what the seller wanted, but I think I stole it! }:^D
