OK, I posted and edited, about 10 times...thank you MacArt! In Russian those two words Bockpece Hïe (I cannot post the translation, the site does not recognize the Cyrillic alphabet) are one word that mean Sunday, you are absolutely right, but why on the top? Holy day? Here is the description from Christie's auction from June 2011:

"DESK SEAL RUSSIA, CIRCA 1830 Faceted hexagonal, the sides finely engraved with the signs of the Zodiac and corresponding months in Cyrillic, facets of the central section with the days of the week, the matrix incised with Cyrillic all inscriptions in mirror writing, unmarked 2¼ in. ( 5.8 cm.) diameter"

The one listed from past auctions is "smoky quartz" mine is clear and the Sunday is top, we now know it means Sunday.. the other one has 'Iu.B.', on top, haven't a clue. But thanks again MacArt, I am most grateful (yet a bit disappointed), I was hoping it could be attributed to a personal seal of a former King/Dictator/Despot - then it would be going to auction straight away!

looks like some kind of calendar/paperweight thing... Cyrillic is alphabet, not language and is based on Greek script, Russian is the biggest language that uses it.

the text in the first pic says Sunday.

      very curious thing indeed.
