I picked this clock up last week at an estate sale in non working condition for a very reasonable price. It was complete except for the winding key. I took the mechanism out for inspection yesterday to find it fully wound and unable to tick. I cleaned and oiled it, has been working 20 hours flawlessly and has a beautiful 2 step (Bim Bam) chime. It measures Approximately 10" tall x 17 " wide.
I did some research online to find very little info on this model. The "Dundee" model name is under the base and Ansonia Clock Co. NY, B22 is stamped on the mechanism. As far as I can tell it was produced in the mid to late 20's.
The dial has a very distressed antique look to it, not sure if someone made it look this way or if it's just the natural patina for it's age. I have had a few repop mantle clocks from mid century but this is the first "antique" clock I have owned, so far I am very happy with it.
Interesting that it has 2 different timing adjustments. Seems redundant to have a suspension spring adjustment via an arbor on the face plate (marked F S) and another adjustment on the pendulum, perhaps one is more for fine tuning?
