I got it. Bota not Boda! I honestly have no idea how old this one is but it was a friend of mine that passed about 10 years ago and I know he had it for a very long time. I'd still love to hear your stories about these crazy things. I sure thought they were a lot bigger!

I need help because apparently these are not called Bodo Bags??? That's what I always called them, I thought so anyway. Did I spell it wrong? Bodoe? Boda? The only word I can make out on it is Spain.

I don't remember the year, I'm guessing 1974, Pink Floyd or The Who...LOL maybe it was someone else...I am laughing a good one right now. I got chosen to carry one of these in. I sure thought they were larger, I had a skirt on and tied it around my leg...OMG I was so sure they could tell and thought for sure I was gonna get caught. If they would have looked at me they would have known for sure I was guilty!!! LOL...I had a lot of fun back in those days. Went to a lot of concerts too. Grateful I can remember at least some of it!!!

I know a few of you will have the answer to this but I won't name names! hahaha Now let's see who else tells on themselves?!?

    Enjoy! What is a blatz???

Ok. Well, I'll see if I can find one under that name. I saw the "blatz" while picking a sub category, all the other beer had the word beer in front of it so it just made me wonder! Thanks bobby! I'll see what I can find and let you know.

Ha ha I got it...I was spelling it wrong! It's "Bota" not da. And they also refer to goatskin.

      From Wikipedia:
A bota bag or wineskin is a traditional Spanish liquid receptacle. Typically, it is made of leather (when made of goatskin it is known as a goatskin itself), and is typically used to carry wine, although any liquid can be filled into it. Often referred to as a canteen.

So there it is, thank you again bobby!

Here in France we call them "gourde Basque" pays Basque is a region near the Spanish border.
See here for a new one made in traditional fabrication.
I had one, lined inside with a rubber pouch, I used for playing golf during hot days (I filled it 1 tier with water before putting in freezer, then completed with cold water before leaving)

I bought one of these before leaving Spain back in the late eighties Susie, and we called them bota bags. I never used it and twenty something years later I tried to fill it with water. Unfortunately, after all this time of non-use, the tar, or whatever they used to seal it inside, had gotten old and caused the whole bag to stick together.

That was a good idea Kyra, while golfing. I'd rather stop at the watering hole though :0

That one belonged to a good friend of mine and when I saw it I thought i'd post it here for my memory sakes as well as anyone else's. thank you for your info and comment. You are always appreciated!

Rose, yours is most likely like mine and Ricks...won't even hold water by now! Leather dries out too much and becomes brittle. Mine doesn't really feel brittle but I bet it is. I don't think anything would taste very good out of it now anyway...probably musty. YUK! haha Thanks hon.

Hi Rick, like I was saying to Rose, they just won't last that long being in storage. Maybe if in a controlled temperature situation? I don't know but I wouldn't even try it. Thanks as always for your friendly love and comments!
