This particular radio is not my own. I have a friend that owns it and he wanted me to recap it and get it in working order.
To keep it original I restuffed the electrolytic capacitors, and used brasso on the cabinet. It does not have any cracks at all and everything is original. It is a model Ra 51
If I ever find one I will purchase it as they are VERY nice radios

My dad had a radio sales and repair shop in the 1940s (later TV sales and service) in Chicago. Sometimes people brought radios like this from an early time in for repair. He should have bought them! What a collection he would have had. Just you saying "electrolytic capacitors" made me happy. Everyday jargon at my house. Ha ha----
.ahhhh memories--and on Father's Day!! Warmed my heart.

Yep, Addison radio and then all Catalin, a winning combination.
