When wound up, the drummer taps the drums and the horse moves forward. On one side of the toy, it says made in Gt. Britain. My Grandmother gave this to me when I was a little girl.

Nice, a tin toy not from Japan!
Hi from Sydney Australia!
Nice toy boy! Does it have a number? Something like " Prod Pat 23710."?
I think it is part of a series made by an English firm "Wells Brimtoy". There are a series of boy drummers; yours loosely looks like a drummer in the Life Guards.
In England, Wells, Hornby and Chad Valley were dominant players in the tin toy market. Using this info will get you on the way with this toy.
