This is a 1918 Singer 43-5 Cylinder Bed Industrial Treadle. It was in surprisingly great condition, and mostly needed a thorough cleaning. I am in the process of a complete strip/repaint of the treadles due to two small fractures that I've already braised. I found out that this machine is surprisingly rare; using the upper assembly that is from a popular "high-end" machine and the treadle from a lesser-priced model to make it more affordable. Unfortunately, people didn't really buy it, so there were only approximately 950 made, period. <3 I intend to put it to good use. It is a two-speed treadle, capable of up to 1000 stitches per minute! It's an impressive machine, with an imposing hook/bobbin assembly that is the diameter of a soda can!
