I stumbled across this antique stoneware 5 gallon jug at a yard sale and loved the unusual what I know now is a "beehive" shape. That's all I know for sure other than it's 17-1/2" tall just about 13" diameter at it's widest and 11-1/2" at the base. It has a 1-1/2" opening. Of course it has a numeral 5 and what looks like a bee with a stinger tail. I've looked around some and would guess Red Wing pottery but there are so many variations out there of blue swirls, bees, leaves, wings and no wings I just cannot decide that for myself. Anyone here think they might have a bead on who made this and when? I'm thankful in advance for any replies.
