Here are examples of 3 different styles of glass ashtrays from BEST WESTERN Hotel guestrooms. All are about 4-1/2" across and are a nearly identical 'standard pattern' (made by who?) that can be commonly found with all sorts of advertising logos on them (or none at all) and in clear or variously colored glass.

I believe these 3 are pictured in 'age order' from top to bottom, the oldest with the yellow and red logo (1970's?) and the black rectangular logo (1990's?) are both of amber glass, the bottom with embossed non-colored logo is of smoked glass and has the BW contemporary logo only now being updated across the Hotel chain. The 'standard pattern' of the glass has also changed slightly with this one, its ridges around the outer edge are more rounded than the earlier two.

Thanks very much for your loves buckethead, Caperkid. nutsabotas6, and brunswick -- and to PoliticalPinbacks for your comment!!

Actually PP, in my experience BestWestern is currently one of the most reliable hotel chains that still *does* tend to offer clean and well kept accomodations for smokers, in most of their properties. (unlike Marriott for instance, who will never willingly get any of my business again, since they've apparently made the corporate decision that my money isn't good enough to purchase their brand of 'hospitality'...?? <puke>)
