Inherited antique chairs

These chairs were bought by father in law in Australia but I don't know anything about them. They are now in France with us and I am about to reupholster them. I know they are old, as I have stripped one for reupholstering and it is stuffed with horsehair and wool. The original material is silk - which is so deteriorated it just breaks in your hand.

Not sure what type of wood it is but intricately carved and the legs are on casters. Would love to know which era they are from as I can't find any other chairs on the internet that look like them!
