    This might be a dumb question, but I am new collecting antiques and this pendant has IS on the back? Anyone know what this means? This appears to be a newer piece.

      Perhaps SI for "silver".

      Thank you very much. This was a great help! It turns out it is a lower "L" and the initials are for Lia Sophia, which closed for business in 2014. Turns out I have many pieces from her collection.
