I can now check Loetz Cephalonia off my wish list. This example has a fire polished rim and pontil and it stands just a little over 4” high. According to Loetz.com, Cephalonia was produced in 1904 and was created to resemble ancient glass. As I understand it there are two types of Cephalonia décor, one with patina (mit Patinadekor or green verdigris) and one with out patina. I don’t know the PN for this one so if anyone knows I would appreciate it and any other info you are willing to share.

The last photo shows the vase with a serpent pocket watch stand that I picked up this weekend. I am in love with it.

That serpent looks ominous. I'd definitely put such a lovely vase out of reach!

Hi Mac, nice find! Ricke has a couple of PN's that might fit your vase.
PN 168 ca. 1900 (alt 8046 ca. 1899) seems to be the best fit for the size and shape.

Mac, it is great to see you here again! Your new vase is a really wonderful example of cephalonia. The patina at the neck is really nice. And showing it off with your new serpent stand is brilliant - they are perfect together!

Sammyz - I really appreciate you sharing this information - many thanks.

Hey Michelle thanks for checking in. I kinda - sorta have retired from collecting for a while or at least until I see something like this piece. I don't know about you and other collectors here but I sometimes just get overwhelmed by having too much stuff around. I have some pieces but not full on like I use to. I hope all is well with you.

Hi Mac, I completely understand! I have become much more focused and selective in my collecting, too. I also need to sell some of my other pieces to make more room. I have seen pictures of your home, and I know you have a beautiful, uncluttered aesthetic. Good for you for keeping it that way! :)
