My sense is that we are looking at two different makers for these two similar vases. Both have a flared rim bullet shape (I call a carriage urn) resting on buttressed tripod legs. Both are done in "Tango" colors - one in green with black (not amethyst) legs, the other in yellow with cobalt blue legs - and are clear cased over the colored urn. The similarity ends there though. The basic shapes are really quite different from the shoulders up, and just as noticeable, the feet are formed entirely differently. The black feet are ribbed and stand on their tiptoes while the blue feet are smooth and are turned flat-footed on the ground.

The green vase stands just over 8 1/4" (21 cm). The yellow vase is just shy of 6 1/2" (16.3 cm). The green vase has an acid stamped mark. The yellow vase is unmarked.

Oh wow, thanks for the explanation, I see exactly what you are talking about. So...now what I would like to know is which vase would you say is older and which vase is worth more. I am asking from a buyers thoughts. I do like them both but in looking at the difference, it's almost as if the green vase itself was made better if it had the other feet. It is so important to see the overall piece looking at every detail before something is purchased. And at the same time, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all! I do love both of these vases. Tango glass is all good to me.

I would think that both of these pieces were made sometime between 1919 and 1939. It would be difficult to be any more specific than that. Speaking to the quality, it is my opinion that the yellow vase was created by a more skilled craftsperson - it seems a little less casual - but you would probably have to handle them to really notice the differences. Which is worth more? I don't know.
