Getting back into my jewelry collection and trying to segregate/identify everything.
This is a beautiful Green and Blue Rhinestone silver toned necklace. It is signed/marked: SHERMAN. It's longer than some of the necklaces I have.
I love how the flowers drape. Any thoughts on time period?
Probably around 1960, have some sets identical in my collection, but have listed very few sets on my page. Gustave Sherman used some of the finest stones available and was a genius !
Wow..PhilDMorris, I didn't know that about Sherman. I'd love to see some of your sets. I always peek at people who are kind enough to either 'love', 'like' and/or comment. :)
I've also realized in posting today's pics that using a white 'towel' as a backdrop is a terrible idea as it kind of creeps up around each piece...like a shag carpet..sigh.
Thanks for the love Hel1
Beautiful and Sherman did make very fine quality jewelry ! Check out Phil's page he has a amazing collection of Sherman's work .
nutsabota6 -Thank you! I'm hoping with the luck you've been having that you will find one soon! I'm sure when you do, it will be stunning!
Manikin - Thank you so much. I really like this piece, it's elegant without being ostentatious Trying to think of the right way to say this, but some of the work I've seen from others, like with bigger statement like necklaces, some designers pull the 'balance' off well and sometimes it seems 'too much' but that is a personal preference. I ALWAYS admire the work that went into the jewelry.
I tried to look through Phil's collection last night but think I'm doing it wrong as I was trying to zero in on just costume jewelry. I'll try again as I'm not as sleepy as I was last night..lol
Thanks for the "love"
