Hi all!
Look at this amazing piece! Men's sterling silver cuff bracelet. I would love to know if this piece is authentic turquoise or not. It looks like it is but I am not positive and have not seen another like it for comparison. From what I have seen, the artist is Native American Grace Smith of the Navajo Tribe.
Her works seem to be quite different and not so traditional, like this is. The coral appears to be natural as well.
This piece weighs 101.7 grams, very heavy and very large. Three banded sterling silver, signed with a "G" (and sterling) it is nearly 2.5" tall, the interior measurement is just over 5.5" with the 1.75" opening. Around the face is a snake, some scrollwork, coral and a feather.
I have done the hot pin test and the pin does not penetrate or stick. Of course, I'm grateful for that but are there any other tests I can do myself? I really do need to be sure. And has anyone ever seen anything like this with a face? If it is one of a kind I will be more than ecstatic!
Thanks for any help and or ideas. I really appreciate them all.
Thanks Caper! Nice of you to drop in!
Wow, where did you get that?? What a bracelet....
Thanks Bonnie. Estate sale, all Native American. It was more than awesome there. Just like a museum! Have you ever seen one like it???

I have only found one other bracelet similar to this and it's described as a hand carved, turquoise Indian Chief bracelet. I was unable to copy the link for it and couldn't find it in any other place, just google images.
Does anyone know where to find another??? I'd love to see it.
Thanks caperkid and lisa for stoppin in to see. I appreciate it ;)
Gorgeous Piece !~
Thank you Phil. I agree and found out he is real turquoise!
Vintage fran, thanks for stopping in and loving! Much appreciated ;)
Great idea Val, seems like the perfect resource. I did find out that the turquoise is real but I'm going to contact them anyway! Thanks much xoxo back at cha ;)
Thanks Eli68. Love that name, Eli!
Stunning find! Breathtakingly beautiful!! Looks the mark that Grace uses but I see your point in it being a bit different than what she's known for. Maybe see if she has a Facebook page and post a pic there?
Val, I looked for this museum and got lost in the mix, so I couldn't find it. No need to any longer! And with that, I'm hoping to stockpile a few more pieces. This guy was much too big for my arm. (that's a mans' arm in the photo)! I guess that's clear, but for those that may not know it...haha Thanks so much for that info!
Thank you Karen. I honestly didn't find much of her work, but I thought the ones I did find were not similar to this but different than other silversmiths. Thank you for the love and comment! I appreciate it ;)
Thanks for the love Jean and Ted! Much appreciated!
I can't tell you anything about it other than, holy crap that's awesome!
I just want to let you know that my birthday was 2 weeks ago, but I gladly accept belated birthday presents. I'm a big guy, it would fit me great! I realize we don't know each other, but you could make this the best belated birthday EVER! ;)
All joking aside (actually i would still be happy to accept this as a birthday present if for some reason you went out of your mind) I would recommend you search for Francisco Gomez and see where that takes you. Wish i could be of more help.
Whooohhh, Share! That's a wonderful piece!!!
JFranca! You sound just like me! haha I in fact think I recently said those same words to someone...was it you??? Yea, he's a bigun. You'd have thought this guy had running legs on him, soon as I showed him out there, he was gone...very quickly too.
I don't sell everything I post here, some do and some don't. I have to say, I have learned so much info from so many great people...It's just awesome. Thanks so much for your comment so much like one of my own! Jest havin' fun! Hey! I do believe I asked you something once before... yet no answer??? About "O" Franca??? Remember ;) Come on, it's a need to know question...I just need to know!
Kyra, thank you! He was just way to big for my little arm, although I've replaced him with some great pieces. I'll get ta postin em soon! I got to pay a few bills off with this one too! So awesome. Thanks for stopping in!
Karenoke, thanks for loving!
It's by Francisco Gomez -- non native american.
