The majority of these sorts of bracelets sold at flea markets are junk metal. I took a chance that this one wasn't, and it isn't! There are no marks anywhere. I tested it in several places and also tested the clasp pin. I got a deep red streak under the acid. I've discovered that this is a Turkish Ottoman design bracelet. The Ottoman Empire rule began in 1299 came to an end in 1922. This bracelet could very well be from somewhere in that period.
Thanks for stopping by!

Back on track, Bonnie ? lol
bb2 - there's more where that came from!
Bonnie, this is so, so pretty. Would love to see it on you if you could take a shot like that. I've had a bracelet with a pin in it too, nothing as pretty as this but I was very curious when these were popular, do you know?
@shareurpassion - don't know how popular filigree jewelry was in other parts of the world. I see a ton of filigree jewelry from Germany, Thailand and various other countries. I think popularity depends on the quality of the piece.
Bonnie, after figuring in travel expenses, I think the price would be prohibitive. Of course those expenses could be greatly reduced with an invitation to stay at your place. LOL ! I need to get out of here before I pick up a KY accent !
LOL @ bb2!!
