From what I can find on the internet, henna body art today is made free-hand and/or with stencils. These bronze artifacts are small 18th Century "printing blocks" used by women in India, and the surrounding areas, to print elaborate, but temporary, tattoo-like patterns on their skin with henna, a natural vegetable dye. This was done as part of the celebration of holidays and happy special occasions such as weddings and birthdays. The word "henna" also refers to the skin art made with the dye. The largest of these stamps is 2 3/8" long (they are shown with a silver dollar for scale). They appear to have been made by the "lost-wax" casting method.

I know these don't really go under the tool category but you guys like odd stuff so I posted them here (there isn't any good place under "accessories" either).

I can't imagine defiling my perfect body with tattoos ! LOL !! Well, maybe a zipper tattoo on my open heart scar.

That's the great thing about henna. You can get a tattoo to see what it's like and what your girlfriend says and in a week or so it's gone. Even as a child I always thought, gee, when I get old that tattoo will really look sad. So I never got any. I don't regret it. I'll add a pic of an ink stamp I just did. Hope it washes off :-)

I've seen many of the stencils in recent years and always think how cool it would be to tatt myself up, but they seem time consuming. But these look fast and easy, wonder if these can still be purchased? Think I'll check on that question. Thanks for sharing! I also have no tatts, and I'm not starting now.
      Cool stamps!
