That's the SA(Brown Shirts) emblem. Why do you think it is medical ?
Lovely bag. Difficult to gauge the size but going by the size of your hand, and the shape of the lid, could it be used to hold something like binoculars?
Blunderbuss2, I was told by a friend of mine that that's what it was he looked it up and sent me this site but after looking at it more you might be right what do you think it is?? this is this is the site he sent me.... http://www.usmbooks.com/nazi_first_aid_kit.html
t appears from the site you found, that is a medical kit. The emblem is still the SA & I can't remember what the initials below it is. I want to say drivers corps, but not sure.
Blunderbuss2, I paid $20 for it at a garage sale..
blunderbuss2, that site doesn't have the stamp on the top of the bag though I don't know what that means
The top line says "BAYER"(?) national organization. Under that is the makers name in "Munchen". (Munich). Each maker would have its' own name, or code & location.
'Bayern' = Bavaria,
'Bayer.' is short for 'Bayerische' = Bavarian
Der Sattler = the saddler
Bavarian State Organization Saddler, i.e., the equestrian leather goods supplier for the Bavarian state, located in Munich (the capital)
I found one on another site and it sold for an undisclosed amount but it didn't say a whole lot about it ..thank you
