Found matching set at estate sale; largest is 28-29" to chimney top, and other one is just a bit shorter and not as wide. Lamp is done in opalescent white, and blue and also a slightly Rosie pink on shade by top ruffle, then on rim of shade that fits into metal shade holder, and also a bit of pink around the bottom of glass bottom that fits into base. Their are blue painted lines on shade and base, and flowers look to be hand painted blues, navy and aqua, with multi color green leaves.
I want to find the mfr of piece but have had no luck. Underwriters Lab number states portable lamp AH-1421 and below it E24119. Can find no other markings or labels anywhere. PLEASE HELP identify. Thx so much.
I think it was made by Quoizel, who contracted a Ms. Adams to hand paint these.
I just can't remember Adams first name. But if you look up hurricane lamps on eBay I'm sure you will learn the maker and painter rather quickly.
Nice lamp, enjoy!
Thx so much for info. I will research with your info. I have been looking off but mostly on for 3 days and found only a glass shade on Etsy that matched smaller lamp exactly...except flowers were painted slightly different, but definitely same artist did both. This Etsy seller did not know manufacturer though. Thx. Again.
Darn. I found no matches on eBay except another shade only. Quoizel glass looks so similar, but so far all are blown differently than my shadess which have the two ridges above the floral pattern. I have found from others online the iron/metal to be the Accurate Casting UL mfg # because of a label i found in the switch area, but they say it really does not tell me who mfg'd the lamp or glass. Love them regardless, but will keep searching.
