Vintage Sims Skateboard

All original Sims 36" Skateboard, energy trucks, Sims Pure Juice wheels - This was a gift from Tom Sims back in the late 70's (knew him from HS). I had found one of his hand-made prototypes ("Sims test ski "routed into the deck) at a swap meet in Goleta. I was living in Santa Barbara at the time and called Tom up and offered it to him as I thought he might want it. He did. He recognized it as a prototype that he had made in Hawaii. The prototype fairly rough, about 48" long. In gratitude, he gave me this early 36" long board that I used fairly sparingly for a couple of years. If I hadn't known him from high school, I probably would have had him sign it. But to me, he was just Tom, not a celebrity. He was a talented great guy, drew excellent cartoons in class. He and his more avid skateboard buddies referred to skateboarding as "birding" back in the Haddonfield, NJ days. He is missed.
