..it was a old object I saw at a yard sale and I was curious to find out what it was it looked familiar for some reason my first impulse was that it was a bee smoker but that isn't right nobody else that I showed the picture knew what it was... it was made of thin light possibly tin metal the central cylinder was textured with small lumps and the cones on the ends did not come off they were welded or soldered in place. .. each cone has a small hole in the tip the handle is just big enough for my hand and my hand is about 4 inches across roughly I just want to know what this is for curiosity's sake so if anyone out there knows what it is I would appreciate it to be identified thank you so much ^_^

Is there more wear on one side than any other - particularly on the side opposite the handle?
    3. slackjack, 7 years ago
Uncle Ron thinks it may be a guero.
    4. UncleRon UncleRon, 7 years ago
Say wha? A guero is a light-skinned Spanish person. I was just trying to determine if it was held by the handle and rubbed against something, as opposed to being something that had nothing to do with abrading anything.

Think I got hit in the back of my head with one yrs. ago. For tenderizing meat ? And yes, did almost say that. LOL !

I was referring to the instrument made from a gourd that is rubbed with a stick.
    7. UncleRon UncleRon, 7 years ago
Ha! Never heard of such a thing. It just doesn't look very abrasive to me.

      I'm with SLACKJACK ... a GUIRO.
    9. AnythingObscure AnythingObscure, 7 years ago
I'm kinda liking slackjack's idea of the 'old percussion instrument'. (to be played by rhythmically rubbing a drumstick or such back and forth on its outer bumpy surface)

The only one not involved in this, is the poster. Thomas should know if it is involved in music.
