Vintage Original Rehberger United Airlines Douglas DC-3A Chrome Airplane Ashtray

Another Rare Rehberger Airplane Ashtray! This one has its original chrome and is intact. These were commonly used in United Airlines First Class Lounges during the late 1930's and early 1940's. By the end of WW2 and with the advent of the 4-engine DC-4, these ashtrays were considered passe' and were slowly disposed of to new owners or trashed.

This one somehow survived as a working ashtray for many years in private hands and most likely has not been seen publicly for over 50 years. It is in excellent condition but is missing its little glass ashtray insert so i will be on the hunt for one of those.
