This is a beautiful liquor bottle measuring 9.5" x 4.5" x 2.5". I am guessing brandy, but not sure. The front top below the neck has an embossed V S R in an embossed circle. It has a larger circle in the middle that I am pretty sure is for the label. Both sides have a huge V S R painted on in block letters in a cream color. They turn to powder if touched. Back has the same design without the embossed letters and above the large circle it says Federal Law Forbids Sale or Re Use of this Bottle in solid block letters. Bottom has a lot going on, has a B in a circle indicating Brockway Glass Company on the right. Left says M-2517, in the middle is a D-9 and 14 - 54 under that. Going to say bottle is from 1954. The seams are faint and almost non existent as they go to the top but not over the lip. I cannot find what VSR is, so I am once again asking for help. Thank you for stopping by.
Sorry for the pix, will get a better one tomorrow!
Very Special Reserve.
Thank you blunderbuss2, is that the name?
"Is that the name?", of what ?
Is very special reserve the name of the Brandy.
No. It is what the distillery is calling it. Their regular might be rot-gut & they call their rot-gut +P, VSR. Actually, distillers may have a requirement for their ratings, but I don't know. I'm sure it has at least a PG rating. LOL
Probably better than the rating it has after one finishes drinking the bottle! LOL!
Yeah, I quit drinking hard merde about 30 yrs. ago on requests from friends. LOL !
You have great friends and you are an even greater friend for taking their advice!
