Chasing signs and standing signs poses problems for guys in wheelchairs but anything can be done with a little creativity. Since we "had" to attend the Iowa gas show and still "have" to put footings in the ground it requires my figuring out how to get in and out of a Bobcat and pickup truck. Not too hard as you can see. A few 2x12s slid under my body while I lift up out of the chair with my arms putting no weight on my legs and then add a "slide board" and I can get about anywhere. Winches on the truck and trailer also help in loading heavy stuff. The fun is in the hunt! One more month in the chair they tell me! This pix was after we picked up our first sign in Nebraska on the way to Des Moines for the show. We came home with 6 more big porcelain signs and very tired "bottoms" from the very very long drive.
You are truly a die-hard sign collector.....Carry On!
Buckethead,
I'm not dead yet so see no reason not to keep doing the things I love to do. Thx for the luv it
Wow, Rattletrap! You're the proof that nothing can't keep a true collector from going on the field! Kudos :-D
Best wishes for your complete healing, keep patience!
Kyratango,
Thx for the comment and yes OCD keeps a sign hunter out hunting in the wheelchair or out of it. Another month in the chair and I'll start therapy. Whatever that looks like? Maybe a walker? Crutches? We shall see. Sign hunting will continue either way.
Oroyoroyisthatyourhorse,
Thx for the well wishes
Where there is a will there is a way!! You'll be doing cartwheels in no time :)
Trey,
Will see the surgeon on Tue and hopefully get the go ahead for physical therapy and eventually learn to walk again. Bone healing is a very slow process for us old folks no matter how hard we try and hurry it. I'm just staying busy while I wait impatiently.
Just do what ole saw bones tells you and you should be fine:)
