OK I like old first aid kits. I like going through them and checking out the contents. This one is only missing three pieces. Going with 1954 here and later as that is what I saw on another site and it seems reasonable.
One point to this set is that it is Bauer & Black as opposed to Johnson & Johnson. Johnson & Johnson make Band-Aids and Bauer & Black make something everyone calls Band-Aids but are not. It's like being the manufacturer of tissues other than Kleenix, rather unfortunate.
The twist type Tourniquet is a favorite here. Be sure to read the instructions on how to stop bleeding when someone is doing serious bleeding without panicking and good luck with that.
A part two is coming right up.
Pretty neat first aid kit!!
Thank you very much Scott.
Thank you very much nitsabotas6. I just collect them. Don't think much of it is usable.

Oh, how fascinating! I remember a decade ago when I bought a car, I got a free first aid kit (the only time I did). I had no idea that this is something that has gone on for such a LONG TIME!
The only times I could remember as 'historical give away item times' was getting a toaster or something like that for opening a bank account? And just when did that end as I've never gotten anything for opening a bank account..lol.
Curad band-aids are definitely still sold today (I have some and of course J&J). I did not realize Curity was the parent company but smart of them to start their name off with something that makes us think of 'cure'.
I really love first aid items! lol...we have many!! Can't wait for the Part II!
Didn't have to wait long as I see you posted it! That's what I get for going out of order
Thank you very much KarenLR71. When I bought my last car I got a bunch of free cloth bags and a T shirt. Bauer and Black are the parent family of Curity and Kendall the parent company of B$B and it may go on after that. I have a bunch of 1st aid kits, less than 10 I think.
Thank you Rick55.
Thank you SEAN68.
Hello,
I have been trying to find info on that tourniquet. Would you please post or send to me a copy of the instruction sheet ?
Would be awesome. Thank you. Ketch stalhorse@yahoo.com
