NoviceVint…
(1 item)
Hi all,
While vintage (assuming it IS vintage) jewelry can often be difficult to track down, I have been unable to find a record of this anywhere. There are obviously some very distinct markers on it, the Sarah Coventry Nautical watch face, the name LA Express complete with what I assume is an item number Lax 180 as well as the numbers 056-PC21 on the back of the watch...in case it isn't clear in my pictures.
Yet I still can't find any references to it anywhere and very few references to LA Express. It looks fairly modern to me, so I wonder if it was part of the short lived 80's resurgence, or if it might simply be a short lived company that attempted to cash in on the name?
It should be noted that the only place the Coventry name is shown is on the face of the watch. It's not stamped anywhere else on the item, but even if it had been put together from pieces of different items I would think I could still find a reference to the watch face somewhere.
I don't suppose anyone has ever seen anything like it before?
Nice! Made by M.Z. Berger. They registered the Trademark LA Express 1992. They seem to have equipped quite a few watches with the PC21 movement.
Thank you so much!! I searched everywhere using every keyword I could possibly think of and couldn't come up with anything. I have yet to see another one anywhere else, though maybe it was because I was focusing too much on the Coventry name. Either way, I don't know what I was missing, but after months of searching, I'm incredibly grateful for the assistance.
