PostCardCo…

The "trick" you see performed, startles the vision! Very clever, but have you see it done anywhere? Or is there a very clever photographer behind it all.? (trompe l'oeilI--"tool the eye" genre).
I think all concerned had a good time on this day No info printed about the card, just a small number on the front.
Yesterday I put another bizarre card on here
Another real photo postcard A groping man with woman at piano,
it was also sent to Miss Osmond. She must have been a good sport and a lot of laughs.
This card reads on the front left--"I Was Up In The Air"
I think they are all cut outs, or is that cut-ups! :^D Another fun postcard PCC, thanks! :^)
Photo of the girl up in the air is too well focused - very difficult to get a shot like that so perfectly positioned. They all got so warm, they went and had a few beers, took their clothes and corsets off.
The grounded two are real. The second is a cut-n-paste-n-photograph-again ideal. They did a lot of cut-n-pastes in old year-books.
Gillian--you are very clever to combine all my recent cards into one summary! I am still laughing!
I believe it's three separate shots, the background, the two women holding the blanket(notice the cut line just below their knees), and inked in shadow, and then of course, the woman in the air! :^)
Even in 1909, people were trying to present funny little pleasantries and tricks to the buying public. I, for one would have bought this for my friend who was under the weather, rather that a flowery sentimental card. And this one has been passed down for over 100 years, and we still enjoy puzzling it out. As always I love your comments on the cards I post, I wish we could all look in on exactly how this was accomplished, step by step.
Nice to have you all stop by!
