I acknowledge that these nodders from the early 1960's of "Kizzin Kuzins" Nikita Khrushchev & Fidel Castro pre-date the Hippie Era but other than being really interesting - they have a story to tell. To understand the hippie movement and the turmoil (on many levels) to come later in the decade - one must understand what predated it. These to me sum up the Cold War, Duck 'n Cover Drills, and the climax of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The fears of the times made silly... Waited 30 years to own these - and found them in immaculate condition.

I can relate to these. When Jamaica was communist, we would see armed Cuban soldiers on the streets. We couldn't have guns but they could !

Google the 13 days of the Cuban missile crisis. Cooler heads prevented us from heading into a full blown nuclear war. Most likely would not be posting this today. Such a sober thought. Have a Good Friday.

Kennedy was weak on international policies. It was on open secret, what was going on in Cuba. JFK's lack of action encouraged the Soviets to accelerate their plans until it became volatile .

The generals wanted any excuse to invade Cuba. I'm not going argue with you go watch the movie 13 days. No more from me period.

Coke, you advise people to watch U.S. movies to get the truth ? I'll ask Santa 1st . LOL !!

I'm the one who recommended the 13 days of the Cuban missle crisis. You don't need to insult people. Watch it and if you don't agree then make your own documentary. I like the two toys and sorry I even mentioned this on here. Geezz !

Gulf, every country propagandizes/brainwashes its citizens. If the Soviets made their own documentary, I'm sure it was a lot different and most of their people would believe what it shows. I've lived outside of the U.S. for 44 yrs. & hear discussions from all over the globe. Sorry if you feel insulted from opinions reached from experience. You can see a lot more from the outside looking in, than you can from the inside looking out.

Look it's day by day account of the crisis with declassified information that wasn't available until this was released. The facts are there and the results are there. The Russian account has been the same and it's not a propaganda piece. Your point of view about citizens being brainwashed is a bit simple minded. Yes this happens and it's the responsibility of its citizens to weed though the noise. There's always going to be false noise and it's difficult to navigate. Even more so today. Just google the info not the movie. I don't know how this movie was brought into this.

I learned early, that people believe what they want to believe & facts seldom change their minds.

Makes me think of Krushchev waving and pounding his shoe on the table. Now that's the way to get the point across!

I refrained from commenting but personally I find it fascinating a pair of vintage bobbing heads can get a serious discussion on the geopolitical climate of fifty-odd years ago. Makes a collector's head nod in approval.
