Here's the first little item from my trip (just completed) to help clear out my folks' house at the farm for their move 'into town'. This little green ashtray turned out to be quite handy during the 2wks I spent there -- first snatched from an auction hayrack simply because I needed an ashtray (to avoid littering the yard) but the more I used it, the more it grew on me. ;-)

I don't know what the inscription on the bottom means, but I'm guessing it dates from the 1960's or so. No idea where Mom and Dad got it (neither ever smoked) so its probably a hanger-on from an Aunt/Uncle's estate decades ago...? It is in seemingly perfect condition, no chips or cracks. :-)

I seen one of these on a mid century low table at one time near the bottom. It may have just been placed there. Try not to wash or the gold at rims will be washed and wiped away. Quite nice !~

Very similar to Shawnee Pottery ashtrays, but theirs are usually marked. Mind you I think yours looks better !~

I think it is "" Cal Orig 2901 Vintage Ceramic Ashtray"" , as here is another one:

THANKS y'all for the loves and especially PhilDMorris and antiquerose for your comments! Rose, the link you give does look almost exactly the same but the markings are slightly different -- I first read mine as "Ccil. Style 2901 USA" but in looking again, "Cal Style" makes much more sense...??! :-) :-) :-)
