This is something I have never seen before, an adjustable hole punch and it is quite clearly vintage. For one thing it weighs seven pounds and suitable for fighting zombies. That is heavier than most medieval weapons.
These were made by Wilson-Jones Co. and was called the Improved Hummer. I have not been able to find anything certain for the age but seems to be early 1950s or earlier.
An interesting feature for this is that the punches are adjustable. I have moved them around in photos 3 and 4 to show that they move. The ruler in front can be used as a guide for setting the punches. There are screws to set the punches in place along with some braces to make sure they don't move.
In addition there is an attractive green felt underside. They should still be making these.
Now that's what I'd call a well made hole punch!! I have a modern one that's nowhere near as robust as this one.
Wow that's heavy. No movement happening there to stuff up alignment.
Thank you very much Scott. It's nicer than the one we have at work.
Thank you very much racer4four you called it.

All that AND I like the lever you put your hand on as well. It's large and rounded, I suppose you could use that without it hurting your hand.
Thank you very much shareurpassion. Great ergonomics.

I'm embarrassed to admit that the 12 year old in me still snickers at the name whenever I come across one of these.
Thank you very much americanstationer. That thought had crossed my mind.

Thank you SEAN68.
Wilson Jones bought out the Delmar interest in the Improved Hummer line in the mid to late 1920's. Your Improved Hummer still has the older paper table which would place its manufacture to late 1920's to mid 1930's.
My research into the Improved Hummer's time line from Sam'l C. Tatum to Delmar to Wilson Jones isn't finished yet, but I do know your machine is much older than the 1950's.
Thank you very much Mystaplers. I shall amend the description.
It took a while but I did find the answer. You indicated that your example has attractive green felt on its underside. That was an improvement added to all new Improved Hummer Hole Punches in 1934.
Thank you again Mystaplers. I still need to amend the description.
I have a four hole version with the paper base and have not found a picture of another just like it. Regardless of its age, it still does the job!
