    This has been passed down in my family. It belong to my grandmother before she passed away. I didn't get a chance to ask her about this trunks history. Can anyone please help me identify this Trunk and where it might have came from and year? Thanks

      Your trunk is an American made, leather covered, barrel top travel trunk from the mid 1870's. The latches have a patent date of July 1 1873, so it can't be older than that date. Nice trunk, well made. Hope this helps,

      CW won't let us talk about value. I guess they want us to hold hands and sing Cumbia, trade beads, and pretend that everything has the same value. Unfortunately, when insuring our possessions, the insurance co. wants a value.
