A nice WWII period Cameron Highlanders of Canada Tam O'Shanter. The Tam O'Shanter is in good condition for its age. To the side of the cap is a really nice badge to the Cameron Highlanders of Canada over a Cameron of Erracht tartan backing. The cap also sports a beautiful blue hackle. These blue hackles were used by the Cameron Highlanders of Canada, and I've seen another one of these caps before to the Cameron Highlanders of Canada and it looked almost identical with a blue hackle as well. The cap is not named or dated, but is WWII Period.
A nice original black and white original photograph also accompanied this cap. The photograph is of a soldier in the Cameron Highlanders of Canada in battle dress, and wearing that very Tam O'Shanter in this post. Unfortunately neither the cap nor the photograph are named so I do not know who the soldier was, but it's not common to get a picture of a soldier wearing a cap that you also own.
Both the cap and the photograph are in great shape given their age. Overall a great Tam O'Shanter to the famous Cameron Highlanders of Canada, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
That is a great matched set of items. I shall add the Tam O'Shanter to my militaria vocabulary.
Fortapache,
Thank you for the kind comment. I am also happy that you now know what a Tam O'Shanter is.
Best regards,
