Found this tintype several weekends ago at a yard sale. Unfortunately the person I bought this from didn't have any information on this picture, she said she found it among her mother's estate. It is large tintype around
7"x 9" with painted embellishments ( see close ups ).
Nice painted tintype. Based on the size, painting and clothing I would say it is 1880s.

Hi scottvez, thanks for response and for stopping by. Cheers!
Love the painted embellishments. I have several hand-coloured photos myself. Love them.
get it appraised
I'll save you some time and expense-- would you like to know the current market value?
Scott
Yes please, that would be great. Thanks. I appreciate your comments.
Cowan's auctions will give you an expert estimate for free.
Most of these late 19th century painted tintypes will go in the range of about $25- $100.
The biggest factor in that range is subjective opinion-- beautiful women, handsome men and cute children tend to push the high end. Additionally period framing will add to the value.
I would expect yours to be on the lower end of that estimate.
Thanks for sharing,
Scott
