Well, I'd say it could date as far back as the '30s or as new as the '60s. I'm thinking 1940s or 1950s, though.
I could not find information on the artist E. Donovan, save for someone dead long before the last century.
I could not find information on when this poster was produced, other than a seller saying 1940s-1960s and from the U.S. city of Chicago, Illinois. His had the city's name on it, though.
This poster also has the American Insurance Association on it.
Yes, it is a poster, not a book-page. The back is devoid of anything. Pin-holes in top. Found in vintage frame at charity shop today for a good, low sum.
An intense litho for so simple a theme (crystal ball and dark, foreboding eyes of a masculine fireman leaned forward in action). Dark and with saturated colours. Does not floress (spelling?) under U.V. light.
I will likely display this one, rather than archive it.
Great condition, nice find
Thanks, John. Sadly it has 4 pin-holes and water damage at the bottom. Otherwise, it's good.
a description of the poster (albeit without a photo) appears in the Muncie, Indiana "Star Press" newspaper on Sunday, Oct 3, 1965.... <a href="https://www.newspapers.com/clip/13437182/"><img src="https://img6.newspapers.com/img/thumbnail/252257216/400/300/2831_1944_553_213.jpg" alt=""/></a>
Meowman, your link didn't work, but I assume it's the same as from when we talked on it. Thank you.
