Cytisus is a genus of about 50 species of highly fragrant flowering shrubs that produce brightly colored pea-like flowers in a variety of colors. Likewise, Loetz vases in this decor display a variety of bold, contrasting colors in shades of yellow, red, blue, green, and silver iridescence. This has been a bucket list decor for me since I started collecting. Thanks to a friend and fellow collector, I was able to finally acquire one. It was worth the wait.

The production notes for PN II-1270 do not mention this decor, but the size and shape are a match in all other respects. The lemon yellow ground mixes with the wavy blue threading to produce vivid shades of green and blue-green, while the random oil spots change color from silver to pink to red and purple. The multiple indents in the vessel body cause the light to bend all over, bringing out all these colors at once! I am also thankful to have one that is not covered in silver overlay - this is not a decor that should hide behind anything!

My Cytisus is one of my 5 favorite pieces. I find that when I look at the cabinet it is usually the first vase I see. Excellent example of the decor Warren!
