i am hoping someone might know something about this table. My father in law was left this table by his millionaire boss. It is very heavy and very unique looking. There are no markings to say who made this or anything. It seems to be a one of a kind piece. Just hoping someone might be able to guide me where to go for more information and maybe ven what this would be worth.

That is a very unique and beautiful piece. Is it made of wood or possibly even stone? (that would surely make it heavy:))

I have seen many of these kinds of tables. Here in Minnesota many craftsmen make them and sell them. I have also seen a table like this on the "Antiques road show" but I'm not sure what season and I cant remember who the designer was. I would maybe check that sight you watch clips from the show maybe that will help. Good luck.

Back in the seventies my brother made these out of redwood root burrel. There were many people making them and selling them along the Pacifc Coast Highway. They also made burrel clocks.
