This shade was made for the New York firm of H.G. McFaddin & Co., and was actually installed in a lamp in the French style. I'm not sure whether the lamp is from McFaddin or not, but it appears to be of the period.

This PG is one of several newly documented decors coming to Loetz.com in the near future. The ground is spreading brown, and the decoration, which is drawn right on the paper pattern, resembles very much the Titania-style decor known as Carageen, which was produced about the same time (blow up the paper pattern photo to see the detail). The interior of the shade is iridescent, as well. I have no photos of it lit yet, as I need to find the right bulb to fit the lamp.

"Innen Silber" is interesting to ... any idea when Loetz started to use that terminology ?

It is so exciting to see another beautiful shade with both PG and PN numbers. Thank you for the work you so kindly share.

Steve - "innen Silber" (interior silver iridescence) appears at least as early as 1896-1897 - see PN I-6728. You usually see it in bowls, lamp shades, and vases with a flared or wide opening.
