The building logo on the top is identical to the Eatons Tin used for tea etc. (second photo) you can see there are similarities but I can't find a connection between Eatons the store, and Dimond Oil. Picked up on a family's old barn. In good shape and the green is strong.

According to Departmentstoremuseums.com, this is the same building depicted on the can. Check the site out for more info. (I'm assuming it was either sold or made by them.)

Noticed the T. Eaton Co. on the can. It's made by the company when you see these markings

Also, the top floor sold hardware, so this is no surprise.

The building on the oil can is the Eaton's Winnipeg store. Diamond E (The "E" within the diamond) was Eaton's own brand. Eaton's had an oil manufacturer put their oil into the Eaton's can and offered it for sale. I have pictures of the oil can in my 1910's circa Eaton's catalogues if you want a screen shot. :)
