Lois Hill Invitation Holder. Contains an invitation to view a collection called Passage to India "The Allure of The Lotus" at Marshall Fields on State Street in Chicago in May (does not state what year?). the scroll also states that Lois Hill would also be on hand for the event. It weights approximately 14 ounces & approximately 13 inches in length. I have not been able to find anything about this on line so far? The tube is silver in color, shows wear, patina, and not magnetic (maybe brass?), but I don't have a way to test the metal. I am always looking for stuff from Marshall Fields this was a neat piece to find. I would love any info on this item. Thanks!

I just bought a tube like that today, without the invitation inside. but LOVED Marshall Feild's, since my mom grew up near Chicago....At the flea market I purchased it, someone said it is a "spice container." I liked it, and it was cheap, and I may put tea in it...

EVIDENTLY IT'S A TRADITION in India to send wedding scroll invitations, with scrolls inside tubes like this, and since this was for an India collection....You can buy new scrolls for weddings relatively cheaply...
