Yesterday I happened across a Truesdale Wall Trunk at a thrift store in town. The label inside is intact - made in Manchester, NH which is about 30 miles away from me. It appears to be in good shape other than someone has painted the entire thing black and the inside hinge is not attached. It was marked down from $60 to $20, so I couldn't pass it up!

I wanted to ask if any of you have one of these or know if they are rare? I don't really have room for another trunk, but it was made locally and I love the floral patterned tin.

Any tips on removing the paint would be appreciated, I've never tackled one like this!

    Thank you in advance.

It is a nice find as you don't see wall trunks everyday.Rare no, but harder to find
yes especially with a label. I like to use Citristrip paint remover as it is far less toxic.
Much luck ,should clean up well.

Wow Drill, thank you for the patent photo! Very neat to see. And also for the advice on the paint remover. I think it is well worth saving.
