Bar scene from the early coal boom days in Missouri. My old Auntie thinks the one of the gentlemen posing is probably the mayor and aldermen. They sure don't look very friendly!

Actually, after looking a little closer, the might be smiling a little. ;-)
I don't know they all look "plastered" to me!
LOL yes, that's it!
It's Xmas & everybody got a stoogie ! Except the poor guy on the end.
Great images, thanks much, makes me think back.Good times.
Love the photo on the right-- with the spittoons on the floor!
Looks like guy to the far right in the front is the local law (badge on his chest).
scott
It sure does, Scott. I missed that badge. My, but times have changed! lol
The name of the place is there.Photo # 2, all the way back-- Can anyone read backwards? I can but my eyes will not accommodate the letters well--
What about the big sign left that has the number 12 in it??(also photo#2,)
I cropped from the full res. file and reversed to read the window. I can't make out the last word. It looks like the sign says "we close at 12 o'clock tonight"
That's what it looks like. I will have to ask an old timer if the name rings a bell.
