Phil - Dad has looked through several catalogues and books over the years with no luck. I suppose I could just let it go, but I am a little obsessive sometimes. I'll continue to look at items from the...
Does anyone know the name of the style or design of the doors - where the box-type embellishments are added to the door panels? Or even the name for the pedestals on the feet? Thanks!
No, the sides aren't glass, the are wood. Will look behind those for a name one day. Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll just look at some of the old names and see if I can find similar. Any idea on a t...
That's what it looks like. I will have to ask an old timer if the name rings a bell.
I cropped from the full res. file and reversed to read the window. I can't make out the last word. It looks like the sign says "we close at 12 o'clock tonight"
It sure does, Scott. I missed that badge. My, but times have changed! lol
LOL yes, that's it!
Actually, after looking a little closer, the might be smiling a little. ;-)
I appreciate that, Phil. Thank you!
Thanks Phil. This isn't actually a set of cards - I tried to take close ups of the men. I have removed those to prevent confusion! I love the way you all can fix these dirty old photos to give a bette...
It did use a lot of manpower, didn't it, PostCardCollector? Some of those men look more like boys.
Cool, Bill! I think that car in the photo is amusing just because it looks so out of place sitting in the field, but between the men as though it was planned.
Found it! Thanks PhilD!
Would love to see it, PhilDMorris. Where is your website?
Heck, it hadn't yet clicked with me that both should have been reversed. lol It would have dawned on me eventually (that's my story and I'm sticking to it ;-) But yes, that explains that!
Thanks for the comments. Yes, that machine is something, isn't it? I wonder how long it took them to complete that portion. It looks tedious! I doubt they even imagined their work would eventually bec...
Thanks PhilDMorris and Manikin!
I found it! Thank you TallCakes.
I'm a newbie, TallCakes. What is BWDIK? Thanks for the links!
lol Now THAT's a weapon!
Thanks antiquerose. Yes, I think the wood is walnut. I hadn't thought to look under the felt and at the metal sockets. Thanks!
