I believe this is a linoleum topped desk but I could be incorrect. It is certainly not leather or wood on the top (obviously rest is wood).
I have found very little on the Sterling Desk Co. or the rarity or desirability of older desks with possibly real linoleum (from what I have read today's linoleum is not the same as the old stuff).
Received this desk from my Grandma and from what I know it was purchased for my uncle's schooling in the 70's and then my grandfather used it as a writing/work desk.
Any information on the desk, manufacturer or old linoleum desks in general would be greatly appreciated. Also tips on caring for the top would be a big help. It seems people just say water or very neutral soaps but I would like to protect and shine it up but I have only found one product that is a system of 3 products to clean and preserve the linoleum.
Thanks for looking.
